Antoinette Collignon, who specialises in cross-border cases involving liability and personal harm, is the first and only member from the Netherlands. The Academy seeks out, identifies, acknowledges and honors those who have achieved a career of excellence through demonstrated skill and ability in jury trials, trials before the court and appellate practice.\u00a0 Members are engaged in civil practice on both the plaintiff\u2019s and the defendant\u2019s side of the courtroom, and the trial of criminal cases.\u00a0 The Academy invites only lawyers who have attained the highest level of advocacy.\u00a0 A comprehensive screening process identifies the most distinguished members of the trial bar by means of both peer and judicial review.\u00a0 Ms. Collignon has been evaluated by her colleagues and the judges in her jurisdiction and has been highly recommended by them as possessing these qualifications and characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>Chartered in 1954, the Academy\u2019s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisdiction, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice, and elevate the standards of integrity, honour and courtesy in the legal profession. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Antoinette Collignon\u00a0was recently inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) at their Annual Meeting on 5 April, 2017.\u00a0 The distinguished Academy is made up of a select group of no more than 500 fellows from the United States and 140 fellows from other countries.
