Max van Leyenhorst is specialised in conducting civil proceedings both before arbitral tribunals and national courts. He acts for large and medium-sized companies and for government authorities. The disputes usually concern mergers and acquisitions, Board Member’s liability, corporate law and contract law. In these areas, Max also sits as an arbitrator. In addition, he conducts legal proceedings on the enforcement of arbitral awards and on disputes on the basis of investment treaties.
In addition to conducting proceedings, Max advises on the prevention and resolution of disputes. Courtesy of his extensive litigation experience, he regularly advises on the manner in which a party can be best prepared for disputes. This proves to be an aspect which, in practice, is given too little attention or too late.
Clients appreciate his professional knowledge in combination with a dynamic method of working.
Max van Leyenhorst practiced at NautaDutilh from 1999 to 2009. Since 2007, he has acted as lecturer on arbitration law and International Dispute Resolution at Leiden University (Division of Civil Law and Law of Civil Procedure). Max switched to Legaltree in 2009.
