Marleen de Putter

Marleen de Putter specialises in corporate law and in competition law. Marleen is particularly experienced in aspects of competition law which concern commercial enterprises: advising and conducting legal proceedings concerning joint venture agreements, arrangements regarding exclusivity in distribution, franchises and agency agreements, non-competition clauses, abuse of dominant position and cartels.

Marleen frequently advises on the legal complications of competition and collaboration between companies, from exclusivity agreements to possible notification obligations. She has supported various clients during so-called 'dawn raids' – cartel investigations conducted by Dutch competition authority (ACM) – and subsequent proceedings. She also assists companies if their plans for a merger, acquisition or joint venture must be reported to the ACM. Marleen's clients include domestic and foreign distributors, manufacturing and construction companies, franchise organisations and interest groups. She provides support and litigates regarding contracts, (especially distribution, franchise and agency agreements), terms and conditions, breach of contract and damages.
